Monday Monday

I'm getting a little behind! Yesterday began with class until 11 and was followed by a bit of lounging for a couple of hours. Around 1:30, Sarah and I went to the Castello Sforzesco and surrounding park. It was beautiful! Leonardo Da Vinci designed the red-bricked fortress. It, at one point, had a moat but was drained by Napoleon. We found a sitting area around a wading pool in the 'courtyard' of the castle. It was really relaxing to just sit and people watch. The water was lined with brick so we actually gave ourselves makeshift pedicures.
The sitting area is just to the right.
We got up after about a half an hour of sitting and made our way outside of the walls to a massive park.
We're definitely coming back to this area again. It was really peaceful and filled with people laying down in the grass. We came across this monument at the end of it.
We got lost for about an hour after leaving the park. At one point, we thought we knew where we were so we went into a grocery store and got a couple of items. Sadly, we had to walk quite a while to find the next metro. Oh well. Burning calories! We returned to the apartment around 7:30. We parked ourselves on the secluded balcony for the next several hours. It was so nice last night. One of our purchases at the store was mosquito repellent, probably the best thing I've bought the whole trip. The Mosquitos are so bad here!! My ankles and feet are looking pretty rough from all of the bites.
